What to Bring:

To fully enjoy your Matahuru Valley Walk, it’s a good idea to come prepared. We’ve put together a list of suggested items below to help you get ready for the walk, ensuring you’re comfortable and well-equipped for the experience ahead.

  • Tramping boots (strongly recommended)

  • Walking Poles (optional but preferred)

  • Day pack (big enough to hold lunch, warm clothes and water)

  • Towel (for your waterhole swim)

  • Swimwear

  • A large drink bottle (2 litre capacity recommended) and a Thermos (optional) if you would like a hot drink

  • Sun hat & beanie

  • Few changes of socks

  • Personal locater beacon (optional)

  • Clothing Suitable for walking

  • Good-sized lunch box, plus a small container if you would like to take left over salad on your walk

  • Toiletries

  • Camera/phone

  • Bring your own nibbles and refreshments/alcoholic beverages
