One Night Experience - You will start at 160 Matahuru Road. This will be the start of your first walk. We will meet you there to talk about what to expect. This walk is approx. 5-6 hours long.
Two Night Retreat - Your accommodation will be at Tui Ridge Homestay - 816 Matahuru Road and this will be ready for you any time from 3pm onwards. The next day you will start walking from 160 Matahuru Road.

If you would like to make a booking with 3 or less walkers please contact us to talk about options and we can let you know available space with another group.
You will not be sharing a room with anyone outside of your booking group.

Yes, if they were fit, enthusiastic with staying power. We would not advise for children under 8yrs but happy to discuss further as you know your children better than we do.

Yes. Particularly at the Matahuru Waterhole (great spot for your lunch break)

Mobile coverage is good on the hill tops, otherwise no.
Good Wi-Fi network at your accommodation.
You are never far from hill tops or roads in an emergency.

We are happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, please notify of these at the time of booking.
We will ensure your evening meal and dessert meets your needs.
Please bring your own bread and/or milk alternative if needed along with any other substitute food you need for your breakfast and lunch.
Please note: Bread, cereals and yoghurt provided are not GF or DF.
While we cater for GF, DF and vegetarian we cannot guarantee there will not be cross contamination, but we will do our very best.

Not up for the walk or would like to relax more? No problem! While the group enjoys their walks, you can relax at Tui Ridge. Unwind in the peaceful surroundings, read, or simply enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. It’s your time to relax with no pressure to join the walks.

Yes. Parking is off road, private at both your accommodation and the start of the walk.

Most walks will be comfortably managed. There is no need to rush, you have all day to soak up the scenery, take breaks when you like, have a swim if so inclined.

Yes, there are two both are on Waikohu and Mickleson Farms.
These are usually very shallow, shin height but after an amount of rain maybe knee height or more.
We would recommend removing your walking footwear to traverse. The stones can be slippery. Walking poles highly recommended but not essential.

Sorry, no dogs.
You may see farm dogs on your walks as these are working farms.
They are usually very friendly and love attention but we encourage you not to engage with them as this distracts them from their work.
However, you are very welcome to watch them in action.

We allow name changes on bookings so at any time you are welcome to have a name change right up until the arrival date.

We provide you with plenty of food for your stay but you will need to bring your own refreshments, alcoholic beverages and nibbles.
Don’t forget on our One Night Experience you will need to bring your own lunch on Day One .
You will need a good size water bottle and your lunch box.
