Steph and Michaela:

Matahuru Valley Walk is the perfect weekend getaway. The views were incredible and coming home to the farmstay after a long day of walking was bliss. Not having to think about what to cook was also a bonus and the food was 10/10! Thankyou so much for having us.

Claire:

We did the Matahuru Valley Walk yesterday - It was amazing. The views were breathtaking, food was nutritious and delicious. Organisation was impeccable. Great walk of up/down hills, amazing native bush and beautiful streams.Bucket is full.

Group of Six:

Six of us friends did the 2 night retreat and had the most amazing time. It was great to be able to base ourselves at the homestead and do two very different walks from there. The walks were across rolling hills, through native bush and stands of pine. So much variety, including the opportunity for a swim at a peaceful, secluded waterfall. The views were breathtaking from Pirongia to the Coromandel. The food we came back to at the end of the day was so delicious and not a morsel was left over. I feel totally lucky to have had this experience and would highly recommend.

Ladies Weekend Away:

This was our 10th anniversary of our gang of Girls' annual glamping trips around NZ. Many Photos were taken of the beautiful landscape and the creatures that roam this land. We so appreciated this cosy accommodation, the superb meals and the wonderful warm hospitality. And how lovely it was to be met just before the last stream crossing by young Connor, Lucy and their 'Super Mum' Kirsten. Love the pearls of wisdom along the way. Thank you Matahuru. Our trip here was priceless!

Gina:

We had a fabulous walk. It was a great temperature and although windy at the top just an extra light layer was needed. If you are after beautiful farm land, picture perfect views at the top then this is a must. Great company, yummy food and lovely to see something on our doorstep as cool as this!

Steph, Crystal and Wiremu:

If you are looking for an incredible weekend away this the experience for you. A chance to enjoy in three beautiful working Waikato farms and celebrate in the legacy that they are leaving for their families. Incredible views amazing hosts! Best weekend away we have had in a long time. Thank you so very much Kirsten, Sian and Mary!!

Three working sheep and beef farmers in North Waikato have recently diversified to offer a fully catered private walk. It gives tourists and walkers an authentic ‘agritourism’ experience. They’ve planted 75k natives over the past 4 years and it’s an example of using farmland in a sustainable, environmental way.
