About Us
Three neighbours (Sian, Kirsten and Mary) agreed they lived in a very special part of New Zealand. All their friends loved coming out to visit to share their piece of paradise. They decided other people would love it too. After a few short conversations, ‘The Matahuru Valley Walk’ was created. We believe we will become a very popular agritourism business in the Waikato and are very much looking forward to hosting our first guests in October!
Meet the team
Evans Family
Kirsten and Ian Evans came back to take over the family farm in 2019. Since then, they have purchased a further two properties in the Matahuru Valley and have diversified into farm stay accommodation and a native tree nursery. Together with their two gorgeous children, they are committed to sustainability with many hectares of land retired and planted to ensure future generations will be able to enjoy the fruits of their labours.
Noble-Campbell Family
Sian and Andrew Noble-Campbell finally became farm owners in 2020 after 25 years of hard work. The farm wishlist had a mixture of steep, easy and flat country, a stoney bottomed stream, some native bush to conserve and views to die for. The farm on Matahuru Valley Road ticked all those boxes and they are thrilled to be able to share their piece of paradise with you!
Mickleson Family
Mary and Wayne Mickleson moved to the Matahuru Valley from Taihape in 1981. Over the last forty years, Wayne and Mary have raised their family and now welcome their grandchildren to visit the farm. Mary has recently retired and now finally has the time to enter into our agritourism venture. Their intention was to progress to a larger farm but the picturesque Matahuru Valley and its people captured their hearts as we hope it will yours too.
